Timeline
Most Composer keys work when focus is on the timeline.
Enter plays, Ctrl+Enter plays from cursor, Shift+Enter plays to cursor, Ctrl+Space pauses and resumes, Escape stops, F8 switches playback mode, and Ctrl+E or Alt+E opens export.
Ctrl+N or Alt+N creates a new composition, Ctrl+O or Alt+O opens a file, Ctrl+S or Alt+S saves TXT, Ctrl+Shift+S or Alt+Shift+S selects all and copies share text, and Ctrl+L or Alt+D opens the demo picker.
Left and Right move, Shift+Left and Shift+Right select, Home and End jump, Space inserts a rest.
1-6 set step length, 0 toggles dotted step, 9 toggles triplet step, and backtick (`) lets you type an exact tick value. Ctrl+1-6 set selected duration, Ctrl+0 toggles dotted duration, Ctrl+9 toggles triplet duration, and Ctrl+backtick lets you type an exact tick value for the selected note or notes.
Ctrl+K sets Grid note entry, Ctrl+J toggles Chromatic and Scale mode, Alt+Left and Alt+Right cycle scales, and Alt+P opens Project properties from the File menu.
Up and Down transpose the input keyboard by semitone, Alt+Up and Alt+Down by octave. Shift+Up and Shift+Down transpose selected notes by semitone. Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down transpose selected notes by octave.
V sets velocity. Comma and period change velocity by 1. Shift+comma and Shift+period change velocity by 10.
Touch / Remote pad: J K L is the first note row, U I O is the second, and 7 8 with Rest is the third. The step buttons set duration, Dotted and Triplet modify it, and Velocity mode changes the transpose strip into velocity controls.
Page Up and Page Down change tempo. Shift+Backspace reverses the timeline. Browser-safe alternatives are available for common file actions with Alt+N, Alt+O, Alt+D, Alt+S, Alt+E, and Alt+Shift+S when Ctrl shortcuts are reserved by the browser.
